In 1982, we opened our first WINNERS store in Toronto, Ontario with a revolutionary approach to selling merchandise. For the first time in Canada, consumers were offered the winning combination of the latest brand name and designer women's and children's fashions for up to 60% less*. And with new items arriving fresh daily, style savvy shoppers got to experience the "Thrill of the Find".

1990 was a breakthrough year for WINNERS. We were acquired by THE TJX COMPANIES INC., the world's leading off-price retailer of home and apparel fashions. WINNERS instantly became a key member in a growing family of stores, which at the time included TJ MAXX, MARSHALLS , and HOMEGOODS in the United States. Other brands have since been added - A.J. WRIGHT (U.S.), TK MAXX (U.K., Ireland & Germany) and HOMESENSE (U.K.). TJX's international sourcing and buying power enabled WINNERS stores to open across Canada and offer a wider variety of merchandise, including menswear, home fashions, women's shoes and accessories.

And, in the Spring of 2001, WINNERS launched HOMESENSE to offer top-quality, brand name home accessories and décor from around the world - all at the same 60% savings for which WINNERS is becoming famous.

Using the runways as inspiration, our teams of experienced buyers travel to the fashion capitals of the world for the hottest trends. Winners buyers take advantage of the best opportunities in the marketplace and negotiate the greatest deals to be passed on as incredible savings to our customers. The true value is identified through WINNERS "compare at" ticketing, representing the price an item would typically sell for at a traditional department or specialty store.
