10 Friends Diner started out as Daisy’s Cafe at the CAPE Program (Caring About People Everyday) run by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). Daisy’s was a training ground for mental health consumer/survivors to learn new skills in order to raise their level of self esteem and to better themselves so they can eventually seek permanent employment in the greater community. Clients are like all of us but cope with illnesses such schizophrenia; depression; anxiety and similar challenges.
10 Friends Diner offers programming such as:
Counseling :Peer counseling is available.
Educational Training: Cashier, Computer / Internet, Food Preparation, Hospitality Services, Money Management, Team Building, Time Management, WHMIS.
Social Activities: Annual Christmas Party, Employee Incentive Rewards, Fundraising Events, Party and Social Outings.
