On-It Regional Transit 2.99

In order to support the regional smart growth plan, regional transit plays a key component.

On-It Regional Transit will reduce the development footprint by encouraging more compact settlement development patterns.

On-It Regional transit offers a lifestyle of connectivity and mobility options for regional residents. In order to provide connectivity and provide mobility options,CRP recently launched a two-year pilot project which will start on September 2016 that includes; Black Diamond, High River, Nanton, Okotoks and Turner Valley.

The service connects the communities with the Somerset Bridlewood LRT Station in Calgary every morning, with return trips in the evening.

If the pilot is successful, Calgary Regional Partnership would look to continue the service beyond the two-years and expand regional transit service to include even more member municipalities within the Calgary Region.

Beyond the pilot, and beyond even the success of On-It Regional Transit, CRP has bigger plans for On-It. And what’s more significant than creating regional transit? Creating a complete mobility system.

The system helps residents move around the Region by connecting bike lanes and pedestrian pathways to regional transit hubs.
