At Okotoks Karate I teach small classes of Goju-Ryu Karate. We focus on traditional training techniques with the ultimate goal of being a better person through the study of Karate.
The classes are taught by Sensei Steve Vinden who has over 20 years in Martial Arts. His unique teaching style will help everybody from beginners to experienced karate-ka. We focus on building strength and stamina while focusing on good technique. Sensei Steve has broken down the classes to cater to children, families and adults. Class times will be used learning not only about the physical aspects of karate but encompassing the history of Karate, the spirit of Karate, Self Defense and even the Japanese language.
Sensei Steve has dedicated 7 class times per week and will arrange special training sessions and seminars with local, national and international Martial Artists.
The goal of Okotoks Karate is to spread the wisdom and insight of the Martial Arts while working within our community to make it a better place to live.
We have managed to keep student fees very low, starting at $60 per month with a family rate of only $150 per month. There are no contracts to sign, no cost for gradings and outdoor classes during the summer when weather permits.
