**** The International and Exchange Student Centre provides services to international and exchange students at Western, offering year-round counselling, information, programs and events! ****

What we do:

- RECEPTION AND ORIENTATION SERVICE (assistance upon arrival on campus, help with finding temporary accommodation, orientation day events, orientation package and handbook, and welcome reception)

- INTERNATIONAL PEER CONNECTION PROGRAM (connects new international students with current Western students for support and assistance with cultural and transitional issues)

- ENGLISH CONVERSATION PROGRAM (small group workshops offered throughout the year to help you improve spoken English skills and enhance confidence in conversational English)

-GLOBAL CAFE (weekly coffee drop-in where students can meet others from all over the world. Free coffee/tea and snacks.)

- CANADA EH TRANSITIONING TO CANADA SERIES (a new series of information sessions designed to support international students in their transition to Canada)

- INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NETWORK PROGRAM (weekly e-mails to keep you informed of upcoming events and services)

- YEAR-ROUND ORIENTATION (including social, cultural, and informative events)

- COUNSELLING AND INFORMATION (available on an individual basis for matters relating to immigration, academics, finances, cultural issues, personal issues etc.)

-INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM (offering opportunities to go on international exchanges to one of over 87 partner institutions worldwide)

- PORCHLIGHT PROGRAM (for newly arrived international women)

- EMERGENCY LOAN AND BURSARY ASSISTANCE

- INCOME TAX CLINIC FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

- TEA AND INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR SPOUSES/PARTNERS OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

- VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING

- INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS NEWSLETTER (a yearly newsletter that profiles what is happening within the international and exchange student community)
