OUR HISTORY

The Hamilton Harbour Queen was built in Owen Sound by Russell Brothers shipyard in 1956 and originally was named the Johnny B. For over 50 years, this vessel has been historically linked to Canada’s industrial and economic development.

In 2004 the Hamilton Waterfront Trust, in keeping with its mandate of “Connecting You to the Water’s Edge” purchased the Harbour Princess which was operating in Port Dover, Ontario. The boat was moved to Hamilton and renamed, the Hamilton Harbour Queen. From May 2005 to September 2014 the ship was operated by the Hamilton Waterfront Trust.

Today, operating as the Hamilton Harbour Queen Cruises, our operation has quickly become one of the best local attractions in the City of Hamilton. The award winning tourist experience has been providing not only out of town guests but also local residents a great summer time experience. With Dining, Sightseeing, Dance parties and Special Event cruises, the Hamilton Harbour Queen has something to offer everyone. Since 2005, we have operated over 1,000 cruises and carried over 100,000 passengers.
