Taking in visitors from France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Australia, USA, and all across Canada, the Hamilton Film Festival is becoming a destination for filmmakers worldwide!

Godfather III Executive Producer Fred Fuchs attended the opening Gala, we brought in a Black Christmas Supporting Cast reunion (Art Hindle, Doug McGrath, Lynne Griffin), a Visual FX panel with VFX supervisor Bob Munroe, Academy Award winner Colin Doncaster and Peregrine Labs Co-Owner Kirsten Bodenstedt, , a pyro & gunfire workshop with FX expert Max MacDonald, SFX MakeUp workshop with Carlos Henriques, authentic movie props and so much more! Sean Sullivan (Wayne's World), Lisa Langlois (Class of 1984) also stopped by! In the past, Julian Richings (Superman: Man of Steel), Musicians Loreena McKennitt, Rita Chiarelli and Murray Foster(Great Big Sea / Cocksure Lads) have all attended screenings.

Hamilton has seen a massive increase in film & television production including Crimson Peak, Suicide Squad, 11:22:63 and many, many more. Recent cast spotted in Hamilton were James Caan, Michael Madsen, Paul Sorvino, Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chasten, Donald Sutherland...to name a few. And the list grows every month!

In 2015, we partnered with film studio Digital Canaries and toured their new film district & standing sets, and we screened over 150 movies on 9 screens across the city! We also experienced a very warm November and the people came out in droves with over 3000 people attending!

The Hamilton Film Festival and it's new Canadian Film Market, will be the place to attend this November in Hamilton Ontario, home of one of Canada's fastest growing art scenes and Canada's newest Film District!

In some ways, we fly under the radar, in others we are internationally recognized. Distributors are starting to take note as they are looking at the Hamilton Film Festival to acquire titles. We are hearing more and more that the larger fests and markets don't leave much left for the many buyers out there. At the Hamilton Film Festival, we are WIDE open with amazing titles.
The addition of the Canadian Film Market is to properly facilitate the filmmaker / buyer experience. You now have the option of submitting your film to the festival, the market, or both!

With more and more screenwriters looking for opportunities, we are launching our Screenplay competition that comes with Script Coverage from large entertainment company (Details TBA)
We are also launching a music submission competition for film score music.

Our love of music is not something we hide. Festival director Nathan Fleet is an active film composer and jury member Stephen Hayes runs a soundtrack radio show. We are working on some exciting opportunities for the winning scores!

We know how hard it is to navigate the film festival circuit. Our word-of-mouth is excellent. We've been named, a few times, as a festival to watch for, and our proximity to Toronto, Niagara Falls and Buffalo New York make us a very accessible city.
