Walking down the street in your city you'll notice a trend. Although you may not think much of it, almost everyone has some kind of bag to carry their personal items. With this, we saw an opportunity.

That being said, we wanted to be different. We didn't want to create yet another brand who just provides another line of stylish handbags.

At Eve, our mission was to positively impact the way you feel about carrying everyday items.

We set out to design high-quality, contemporary products that were unique and made to fit into our modern lifestyles. At the same time, we wanted to create a company that had a positive impact on both the environment and economy. From sourcing our materials to practicing business, sustainable actions were at the core of what we wanted to do.

Eve Cork takes a natural approach to innovation, creating essential items with a modern flair. Our bags are staple fashion pieces first and foremost, with the added benefit of sustainability.

Our entire lineup is ethically handmade in Portugal and PETA Vegan Approved. Our premium cork fabric makes our products ultra-lightweight and durable, while maintaining a feeling just like leather. In addition, our unique material is waterproof, easy to clean and antibacterial.

Our cork fabric is obtained by hand-harvesting the bark from cork oak trees, which grow throughout the rural areas in Southern Portugal. Contrary to popular belief, stripping the bark from these trees actually allows them to grow faster and live longer.

That being said, this process requires patience. On average, newly planted cork trees need over 25 years of growth before they are ready for their first harvest. After this initial process, our farmers have to wait another 9-10 years until the tree has fully recovered and is ready to have its outer layer taken off once again.

This historic approach yields a high-quality, raw material while supporting our trees to live upwards of 200 years. Cork harvesting is deeply rooted in Portuguese culture and often passed down from generation to generation - making it a time-honored tradition.

Simply put, our stylish line of handbags, backpacks, duffle bags and briefcases are made with humanity and the well-being of our planet in mind.
