The Peel District School Board is a school district that serves approximately 154,000 kindergarten to grade 12 students at more than 253 schools in the Region of Peel in Ontario.The board employs more than 15,000 full-time staff and is the largest employer in Peel Region. As of 2012 it is the second largest school board in Canada.According to Ontario's public sector salary disclosure list for 2015, Peel Board has 349 names on the "Sunshine List." This is a list of employees who make more than $100,000 a year.Peter Joshua is the current Director of Education.HistoryIn 1970, 10 local boards came together as the Peel County Board of Education. In 1969, the board served a community of a quarter million residents—20 per cent of today's population.
